Woo hoo!
Fans of the long-time Fox animated TV show The Simpsons are up for a treat as Universal Orlando Resort has expanded a theme park modeled after the infamous town of Springfield, complete with real-life versions of iconic establishments like the Krusty Burger, Kwik-E-Mart and Moe’s Tavern.
Universal Orlando has just recently opened to the public the Springfield area near the Simpson’s Ride in the theme park. This is just the beginning of an expansion throughout the whole park, which will include kang and Kodos rides, a Duff factory, and the Jebediah Springfield statue. This coincides with plans about an expansion of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
Here are some of the newly-opened iconic establishments:
The Krusty Burger
Hey, hey, hey! The new Krusty Burger serves up sliders hot off the grill. And don’t worry, this is made from actual meat, not like the ones Krusty uses, whatever that is. Add-ons? Krusty personally spits on every 50th burger. Well, not really.
The Kwik-E-Mart
If you’ve ever wondered what a Duff tastes like, now’s your chance. The store by Apu sells this famous Simpson drink. The old man stuck in the freezer, the Squishee machine, and the poster of the Squishee lady is there too. And donuts. As Homer Simpson says, “Hmmm, donuts. Is there anything they can’t do?” A visit to the convenience store alone is already worth it.
“Thank you, come again.”—ApuNahasapeemapetilon
Moe’s Tavern
Home of the famous Flaming Moe’s drink and home to drunkards like Barney, Homer, Carl, and Lenny, you can now experience first-hand what it feels like to visit the tavern. Complete the experience with a prank call to Moe asking for someone named Al Coholic, Homer Sexual, or Amanda Huggin kiss.
